Grade Bands

Band Supplies

ALL Students:

Music Stand – for home practice is critical

Korg TM40 – tuner and metronome – When used properly, this will benefit all of our students.

BRASS:

Valve Oil - Blue Juice or Al Cass Fast – various types – for brass instruments

Trombontine or Slide-O-Mix – for trombone slides

Slide Grease- for brass tuning slides

Cleaning snake/mouth piece brush- for cleaning inside your instrument

WOODWINDS:

Clarinet Reeds - Vandoren or Mitchell Lurie (strength 2½ or 3) (ask teacher for strength recommendation)

Saxophone Reeds - Vandoren (strength 2½ or 3) or LaVoz (med.soft or med.) (ask teacher for strength recommendation)

Silk swab - for clarinets, oboe, bassoon, saxophone, & flute (plus cleaning rod),

Reed Guard- Clarinet and Saxophone players should always have 3-4 good working reeds.

Cork Grease- for clarinet and saxophone joints




7th Grade Band

The 7th grade band is comprised of second year band students and perform four formal concerts each year. Band students are encouraged to participate in the OMEA solo & ensemble festival. 7th grade students have the opportunity to also audition for local honor bands.

8th Grade Band

The 8th grade band is comprised of third year band students. They perform at the Bowling Green Middle School Veterans' program each year as well as four formal concerts, a high school football game, and many participate in the OMEA solo & ensemble contest. 8th grade students have the opportunity to also audition for local honor bands.
